Calibrate was engaged by a major subcontractor to assess the effects and impacts of various disruptive events on trade labour productivity across the project.

ENGAGEMENT

Calibrate was engaged by a major subcontractor to assess the effects and impacts of various disruptive events on trade labour productivity across the project.

In response, we produced a detailed independent report for the purposes of commercial settlement that assessed disruption on the project and quantified the associated losses in productivity.

Calibrate carried out measured mile analysis’ using the subcontractor’s contemporaneous data records to identify the various reasonable levels of productivities achieved on the project. This provided a credible real-world basis from which to demonstrate losses in productivity.

To assess causation, Calibrate undertook a forensic review of vast project records across multiple work faces and installation types to demonstrate causation between the identified disruptive events and the losses in productivity.  Calibrate were able to clearly articulate the causes of loss despite the complexity of project issues.  This enabled the necessary level of comprehension by both parties in order to resolve the claim/s.

OUTCOME

Calibrate identified additional causes of disruption to demonstrate significant losses in productivity that could be causally linked back to disruptions by the head contractor. Calibrate prepared an extensive independent expert report outlining its findings to prove disruption and quantify the resulting losses in productivity.

The Expert Report was used by our client to strengthen their basis of claim arguments, which ultimately positioned them for a successful adjudication.
